A diamond saw is a specially designed circular blade with diamonds fixed to its edge. This design is ideal for cutting hard or abrasive objects. There are many uses for a diamond saw such as cutting stone, concrete, asphalt, bricks, coal balls, glass, and ceramics in the construction industry, cutting semiconductor materials in the IT industry and cutting gemstones, including diamonds, in the gem industry.

Types of diamond sawing:

Floor sawing

Diamond floor sawing is a popular sawing method in the construction industry today as it has been proved to be safer and more efficient than conventional methods of making alterations to floor surfaces. Floor sawing is used in both smaller projects such as making cuts for demolition purposes or making way for cabling and also in larger scale projects such as creating openings in motorways, bridges pavements and even runways. For all projects requiring floor cutting, a diamond saw is the best tool for producing precise and controlled results when sawing into floors. With the range of floor saws typically available, it is generally possible to cut most lengths, widths and depths with a diamond floor saw.

Wall sawing

Diamond wall sawing, or track sawing, is used to carve openings in walls for the installation of doors, windows and ducts. Wall sawing is also used for creating separation joints prior to demolishing a wall, and cutting openings where a floor saw would find it difficult to gain access. Straight as well as bevel cuts are possible with a wall saw. The machines are easily assembled to fit into most working areas and are powered by electricity.

Wire sawing

Diamond wire sawing uses a wire beaded with diamonds to cut through concrete and masonry. A diamond wire saw is the perfect tool to use when confronted with the issue of removing substantial areas of heavily reinforced concrete in complex situations where there is limited access. Because of the hardness of diamonds, the abrasion technique can be used to cut through almost any material that is softer than the diamond abrasive. They can even cut through the thickest concrete. Wire saws are an ideal tool for cutting through large sections of reinforced concrete such as bridge sections, jetties, columns or beams. It is particularly useful when it is necessary to isolate extremely thick or awkward concrete shapes.
