Diamond Core Drilling
Diamond core drilling produces a smooth accurate hole through reinforced concrete, brickwork and many other types of stone. The advantages of this technique are that it creates no dust, little debris and no vibration due to the accuracy of the cutting. This means that the work is carried out to a higher standard, reduces the risk of structural damage and helps save time and money on disposal. The equipment is also lightweight and portable, making it suitable for use in confined spaces.
Our diamond drilling service has a wide range of applications from creating holes in walls and floors for plumbing and electrical purposes, to extracting concrete cores for similar purposes. We are able to drill holes ranging from 12mm in diameter up to 550mm in diameter using electric or hydraulic powered drilling rigs.
We have the facilities to control water should this be necessary as this cools the drill bit, reduces debris further and helps to prolong the life of the drill bit. However, we can also perform dry core drilling in certain situations. Dry core drilling is primarily designed for drilling into general housing materials such as soft stone, sandstone, brick and block. This type of drilling is designed to be used only for rotary action without any additional percussive action. For horizontal drilling, it is recommended to apply a minimal amount of pressure to allow the drill to mill away at the material. For vertical drilling, the weight of the drill is often sufficient.
