Here at Diamond Drilling, we offer a range of specialist services to assist you in your construction work. Through our diamond drilling, we aim to provide innovative solutions to the challenges you might face during a construction project. The services we provide are very diverse and can be applied to a huge range of different construction uses.
Here, we shall outline the different services we provide, what they are and how they might benefit you.
Diamond drilling is a kind of drilling performed using a core drill with a diamond bit attached to the end. This drill is specially designed to create smooth and accurate holes in a wide range of materials including metal, glass, reinforced concrete, brickwork and many other types of stone.
Diamond drilling had a wide range of uses such as creating holes in walls and floors for storing plumbing and electrical wiring and for extracting concrete cores. Through diamond drilling, holes can be created to an almost unlimited depth meaning that essentially any task that requires the creation of small holes can benefit from diamond core drilling.
Diamond core drilling is the preferred method over conventional drilling for many applications because of the minimal vibration caused by the drill that makes for a smooth and dust free hole. Cutting with a diamond drill is a far more accurate practice than other percussive techniques so for projects where accuracy is essential, diamond drilling is always the preferred solution. Another benefit of the diamond core drill is that the equipment is very lightweight and therefore easy to transport to site.
Concrete cutting is performed using a diamond saw which has a chain of diamond teeth. These diamond teeth are incredibly strong and are able to slice through reinforced concrete with ease as well as performing plunge cuts.
Because of the depths that diamond chainsaws are able to cut to, they are perfect instruments for creating holes in the typically thicker walls of older, stone buildings. These holes can then be used for fitting windows and doors.
One of the benefits of our concrete cutting service is that structural integrity is maintained throughout the process and the technique we use creates minimal noise, dust and debris. This makes diamond cutting a desirable option for projects such as renovations and conversions where minimal mess and noise is preferred.
Scabbling is a process in which a thin layer of concrete is removed from a structure, usually used as a way of preparing a surface in modern construction projects. The scabbling process is usually carried out using pneumatic devices that pound the surface with pointed rods, although rotary devices can also be used to ‘flail’ the surface instead.
Scabbling is often used because of its ability to reduce levels in a surface, making it particularly useful for removing unwanted markings or coatings on a surface to prepare it for being painted and coated. It can also be used for removing unwanted road markings, for roughening surfaces to provide better grip and even for decorative purposes.
Diamond wire sawing
A diamond wire saw is a diamond beaded wire that can be wrapped around structures made of masonry or concrete and fed through a series of pulleys where the wire is tensioned and pulled through the concrete to make a clean cut.
Because a diamond wire saw can be wrapped around structures of almost any shape and size, they are the ideal tool for large scale construction projects that require cuts to be made through large sections of reinforced concrete. Diamond wire sawing is the preferred method therefore when cutting through bridge sections, jetties, columns and beams. A diamond wire saw is good at dealing with extremely thick concrete shapes that would otherwise be awkward to cut.
